From surviving exploitation to becoming a nationally recognized advocate, speaker, and educator, Ebony Jones has transformed her lived experience into a powerful force for change. Her journey began long before she was born. Her mother, a Southern native, moved to California hoping to escape the devastating impact of the war on drugs that had torn through her family and community. Drawn to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a model, her mother instead fell into addiction and was eventually exploited through prostitution by a trafficker who preyed on her vulnerability.
Fifteen years later, Ebony was born into the very system that had consumed her mother’s life. Growing up amid poverty, instability, exploitation, limited educational opportunities, and mental health challenges, Ebony experienced firsthand the realities that place so many vulnerable youth at risk. Her own experience in sexual exploitation lasted more than five years and became the catalyst for a life dedicated to advocacy, prevention, and systemic change.
She is a bestselling author, TEDx speaker, and the founder of The Ebony Jones Academy — an online learning platform that has served women in over 30 countries.
